Welcome To The Science Station

by - 08:42

Hey there! Welcome to BEGINNER'S GUIDE: BASIC SCIENCE!!! Here we are presenting you a wide section of theories to choose from.  I would not try to act as an educator but rather be your friend. All the theories are presented here in a friendly manner to ensure a better understanding.

I am not like all the “Intelligent Beings” present out there but have a basic knowledge of these theories. The characteristic of Nature is its SIMPLICITY. This blog has a solo purpose: “THAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GRASP ALL THE THEORIES OF NATURE”. You don’t have to be a great scientist to appreciate great science.

I know that many of you have a bug of curiosity roaming in your brains. We appreciate this bug and present some delicious cookies of science to fulfil the requirements of this bug. This is the golden age of science so we should enjoy it. We have discovered a heck lot of science in the last century than ever before. So grab your seat belts and get ready for an adventurous journey in the world of science.
We are going to travel through the delightful way of the smallest to the largest, from atoms to people to the universe.

"If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand yourself."
-Albert Einstein

We have two parts of this blog:

Part 1 contains the MICRO WORLD (you guessed it molecules, atoms, electrons and everything smaller). The journey will take us through these small particles and the huge energy they produce and the great intelligent people behind their discoveries. This will be a long journey that will guide us through these small particles. We will come across many great theories like QUANTUM MECHANICS (probably many of you would be wondering ‘what the heck is that?’ but don’t worry we will solve this dilemma). We will discuss the startling world of quantum mechanics and study how it made possible the electronic revolution by virtue of which you are able to read my blog. (‘Thanks, Quantum Mechanics : )’) We will explore why Einstein declared that “God does not play with dice”.

We will see how Einstein discovered the existence of atoms and settled the 2500 year debate. But atom was not the end of the quest. Atom is further divided into protons, neutrons and electrons. But the quest didn’t stop there too. It was found out that the protons and neutrons are still made of Quarks. Like every yin has a yang or for the people out there crazy for ‘The Star Wars’ then: like every good side there is a bad side matter also has a devil called ANTIMATTER. The interaction of the elementary particles is possible through nature’s four forces: strong, weak, electromagnetism and gravity. These forces have many functions like enabling all chemical and biological processes, glowing up stars, maintaining and preserving Earth’s atmosphere, create the atoms of our body, molding planets, galaxies, and the universe itself.

We will understand the meaning of the most famous equation of the century E = mc^2   and will accept a deeper understanding of mass and energy. This sole equation led to the development of atom bomb. This equation also helped in the creation of nuclear energy. In the future, we might be able to produce an abundant amount of clean energy of few bucks and no pollution.

We would then move on to the most famous and the most beautiful theory of all times THE THEORY OF RELATIVITY: THE SPECIAL AND THE GENERAL THEORY OF RELATIVITY. Einstein built and extended the scopes of Galileo and Newton. He said that we could get squeezed up to the size of a CD, we can be young and we can never catch up to the speed of light and much more. But this was just the special the general has much more surprises. We will also solve the world famous dilemma of the twin paradox.

In part 2 we will explore The Macro World – everything larger than a molecule. We will walk through the life cycle of stars: their birth, their balance, their quick decline, and their ultimate deaths in violent, big and spectacular explosions called supernovae which give birth to White Dwarfs, Black Holes AND Neutron Stars.

In part 3 we will discover and build our knowledge upon The Micro World and The Macro World to discover the events happening there in outer space. We will find out about our own Milky Way Galaxy and others: their size, number of stars, etc. The extraordinary study of starlight, discoveries of great minds like Edwin Hubble and Henrietta Leavitt, and the General Theory of Relativity all led us to the Science of Cosmology. Starlight is an essential thing in Cosmology. The observation of starlight is the foundation of the Cosmology. From the array of “colours” in starlight, astronomers can predict the material of the stars. From the Redshifts and Blueshifts, the motion of stars and the universe can be detected.

Yeah, the thing which is cool is that our universe also has a dark side (as in the star wars): Dark matter and Dark energy.

This blog is similar to a huge buffet. You are free to choose.

Here is a collection of topics to pick and choose from. Feel free to choose and pick so that you can have much more to think about.
